Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 14, 2025

SkySavage ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS and macOS skydiving tracking application.

By using SkySavage, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Location Data

SkySavage collects precise location data to provide core skydiving tracking functionality:

• GPS Coordinates: We collect high-precision GPS data during your skydiving sessions to record jump routes, calculate altitude, speed, and distance.

• Background Location: When tracking is enabled, the app continues to collect location data when running in the background to ensure complete jump recording.

• Purpose: Location data is used exclusively to track and visualize your jumps, calculate jump statistics, and provide 3D route replay features.

• Storage: Location data is stored in your personal Firebase account and synchronized across your devices.

IMPORTANT: Location tracking only occurs when you explicitly start a jump tracking session. The app does not track your location at other times.

1.2 Motion and Activity Data

• Accelerometer and Gyroscope: We collect motion sensor data to automatically detect when you are in an aircraft climbing to altitude.

• Automatic Jump Detection: This data helps the app recognize skydiving-specific movement patterns and automatically start tracking when appropriate.

• Purpose: Motion data is used solely for jump detection and is not stored permanently.

1.3 Health and Fitness Data

• HealthKit Integration: With your explicit permission, we can save your jumps as workout sessions in Apple Health.

• Data Shared: Workout duration, calories burned (estimated), GPS route, and jump-specific metadata.

• Control: You have complete control over HealthKit integration and can disable it at any time in the app settings.

• Apple's Protection: Health data is subject to Apple's strict HealthKit privacy protections and is stored securely on your device and in iCloud (if enabled).

1.4 Account Information

• Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication to manage user accounts. This may include your email address and authentication credentials.

• User Profile: Name, license information, and other profile details you choose to provide.

• Purpose: Account information enables data synchronization across devices and secure access to your personal jump logbook.

1.5 User-Generated Content

• Jump Logs: Details about your jumps including date, time, dropzone, aircraft, equipment, and personal notes.

• Equipment Records: Information about your parachutes, containers, and other skydiving gear.

• Digital Signatures: Electronic signatures for jump certification purposes.

• Photos and Media: Any images or media you choose to attach to your jump records.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Jump Tracking: Recording and visualizing your skydiving activities with GPS routes, altitude profiles, and 3D replays.

• Digital Logbook: Maintaining a comprehensive, searchable record of all your jumps.

• Analytics and Statistics: Calculating jump statistics like freefall time, canopy time, maximum speed, and total distance.

• Automatic Detection: Using motion data to automatically start tracking when you're in an aircraft.

• Data Synchronization: Syncing your data across all your devices using Firebase.

• App Improvement: Understanding how the app is used to improve features and fix issues.

3. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

3.1 Firebase Cloud Services
